Half around the world cruise for just $56.00 a day!

Tom Baker just informed me of this cruise of a lifetime and I thought I would share this with all of you. If you are interested, give him a call at: 800-497-8799

    RCI Mariner of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International (RCI) has announced the repositioning of two of its Voyager Class vessels to Asia year round. Both Voyager and Mariner of the Seas will set sail to Asia to meet the demands of the growing Asia cruise market in 2012 and 2013.

Mariner of the Seas has been a perennial favorite sailing part of the year in the Caribbean and seasonally in Europe. She currently sails in the Mediterranean but spends November through April sailing from Galveston, Texas to the sunny Western Caribbean.

On April 21, 2013, this 3,500 passenger mega-ship complete with massive ice-skating rink, rock-climbing wall, Johnny Rockets, Royal Promenade (mall down the middle of the ship, and oh-so much more sets sail from Galveston for a 41-day cruise to Singapore. This is basically a half-around the world cruise!

This exciting cruise heads across the warm South Atlantic to Barcelona, Egypt, Suez Canal, Jordan (for Petra-one of the 7-Wonders of the World), Dubai, India, Malaysia, and into Singapore.

Cruise devotees get your check books ready! This cruise starts at $2307.00 per person for an inside cabin, and $3,597.00 for a balcony room. All of this is just $56.00 dollars a day!! Who can afford to stay home?

Put this in perspective – a full 90-day World cruise on Queen Mary 2 in 2013 starts at $17,356.00 per person. This cruise is roughly half that length at pennies on the dollar in cost.  Unbelievable? No, it is for real.

If you have the time, funds, and ability – take this cruise. Yes, beverages, taxes, tips and excursions are extra but it is still one of the best values I have ever seen.

I am working on a an excursion program for Egypt where my booked guests will have access to private and affordable excursions in Egypt (including overnight stay to maximize the most sightseeing), Luxor and Karnak, and Petra in Jordan-just to name some.

This cruise allows an avid cruiser a great port sampler to add to his “bucket list” and to get halfway around the world at a most affordable price. Hurry though…this is going to sell out and FAST!

    Happy Cruising!

    Tom Baker

I would appreciate the full itinerary for this 41-Day cruise and any suggestions for the Singapore-San Francisco flight.

      Thanks.

MMOB SOUND OFF: Share Your Thoughts about MeetMeOnBoard.com site features

One of you met the love of your life on MeetMeOnBoard. That is a story I’m sure all the members would enjoy hearing. If you have a great MMOB tale please drop me an e-mail so I can include it in a future article about how the members use the site.

In our recent membership survey we asked you specifically how you use the various features on MeetMeOnBoard and which additions you’d like to see in the future.

Since the survey we’ve added a forum, complete with MeetMeOnBoard Roll Calls so you can post your cruise there for people to find you.

Of course all of you who have booked an upcoming cruise and posted it on your profile know you are automatically connected with everyone who is also listed on that cruise through our Cruise Mates feature. This is yet another reason you should tell your friends who haven’t signed up on MeetMeOnBoard yet.

I’d like to hear from members who absolutely love a particular feature of the site. Are you a HUGE fan of the new and improved Cruise Calendar — the only LGBT cruise calendar in existence?

Do you love to read the latest cruise news in News & Expert Advice? Are you growing to love the new Forum or is the Muster Station a place you just can’t resist?

Are you meeting folks from the site on the ships and forming friendships? We certainly hope so. After all, that’s why we started the site–to connect LGBT cruise travelers with one another before setting sail. Since then we’ve grown into the largest LGBT cruise travel social network, thanks to you.

Let me know what you love about MeetMeOnBoard features, where’d you’d like to see the site grow in the future and if social media and mobile apps are a direction we should embrace next.

Can’t wait to hear your stories. Please send me an MMOB mail or e-mail michael@meetmeonboard.com.

    Thanks,

    Michael Bradbury
    MMOB Director of Marketing

    Oasis of the Seas Vacation

Oasis of the Seas Video Link for May 21 sailing. A video I made of my partner and I on our Oasis vacation, it was FANTASTIC!

Just returned from Oasis of the Seas (May7-May14). Checked the bulletin board for FOD meeting and it was listed for Friday at 6:00 (the last day of the cruise). When I asked the cruise services desk if that was a mistake, they just laughed and grinned at me. Is this typical for Royal Caribbean???

I certainly hope that you had only encountered an “ignorant” person. Crewmembers are just people after all and, well you know. I don’t think that RCCI is a prejudiced company, their ships were used for the biggest gay cruises in all history recently.

Sure there cruises hot the Atlantis events, however, RCC simply leases out the entire boat, granted there staff is onboard. Some of the rules change when they leases out the boat for Atlantis parties.

My partner and I took Oasis back in March and they had a FOD meeting every night at 10pm….Schooner bar. We went every night and met some new friends. I’m surprised to hear there reaction given that it is there flagship of that class. Not sure if you know as well, but you can fill out one of those events cards with your own listing.
I’m disheartened to hear that as RCC is my favourite line. Hopefully you’ll get an email to give feedback on your trip and I would make sure to highlight that.
